6. Also I’ve just writ­ten a note to help you with your col­lege admis­sion let­ters. Shilpi and I had a good talk about this yes­ter­day, so I thought I’d share some of my thoughts with you guys. (Here it is). Obvi­ously, your AA’s are the experts on this, but I wanted to give you my 2 cents worth as well.

Sep­tem­ber

2. (Changed/updated) IA First draft dead­line is 22nd Sep­tem­ber (Thurs­day). Also note that your first draft will count as an OFS grade in Quar­ter 1, so do your best work.

Sec­ond draft dead­line is 8th Novem­ber (Tues­day), dur­ing class time. (This final dead­line is about one week after your final due due date for the Extended Ess­say). Note that fail­ing to turn in your first draft or your sec­ond draft on time will auto­mat­i­cally mean a Sat­ur­day deten­tion to catch up with the work.

3. Please read this bril­liant expla­na­tion of how to write a good extended essay and a good inter­nal assess­ment.

4. Please do the fol­low­ing review ques­tions from your book 4.3.1 and 4.3.2 (b)

5. Your next test will be this com­ing Tues­day, Sept 27th. You may want to focus your revi­sion on 4.3.

7. Mr Nield  has gra­ciously offered to hold an IA Ses­sion in the com­puter labs on Sat­ur­day, 15th of Octo­ber from 9am until 12pm. Please let me know if plan to attend.

8. Please read this note about the parent-teacher con­fer­ences. I hope you are able to attend them yourself.

10. Please read this note about how to eval­u­ate in IB Busi­ness. This is one of the weak­nesses in your tests that we’ll have to over­come before the Decem­ber exam.

1. Please con­sider adding the NPR Planet Money Pod­cast (Link here) to your iTunes pod­casts. They are full of great exam­ples and very rel­e­vant to our course. At the very least, please spend 20 min­utes either lis­ten­ing to their pod­cast, or read­ing their blog as part of your home­work for the first week.

2. Don’t for­get that your 4.1 and 4.2 notes are due August 19th.
