  2. This involves: helping them set up their CAS program, monitoring their CAS progress (reporting ‘at risk’ students to the CAS Coordinator), reading and marking reflections three times a semester; interviewing and advising students about the status of their CAS commitment; keeping records of reflection marks and interviews; entering results online.
  3. The CAS Coordinator (Miss MM) will oversee and advise the CAS supervision duties.

  3. Don’t under commit—making up CAS in a hurry is HARD

  1. You must participate in your club consistently in order to get credit for it
  2. Keep the due dates somewhere important—you must hand things in on time
  3. If you do not reflect on your activities, you do not get credit for them
  4. Reflection is more about what you are learning than just what you are doing (see reverse side for more about writing reflections)

Social Service Activities:

  1. Bishan Home
  2. Read to Reach

More CAS information (from Miss Mares Manton’s talk)

1 component is worth 15–20 hours

Half a component is worth 7 to 10 hours.

A social service is outside the school, with a sharity organization, working with people.

Global importance is something that is good for the whole world.

Leadership is planning or taking initiative.

  1. You need to submit a proposal before the activity takes place.
  2. Then you’ll need to make sure you get attendance verfication from the person leading the group and that your yellow sheet gets filled in. You’ll need to submit these after the activity.
